18-Year-Old Driver Mason Holbrook Dies after Car Overturns on Summit Road near Timmus Lane

 
SUMMIT, CA (February 2, 2021) – A young man was killed in a rollover accident Wednesday night in Summit, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on January 13 on Summit Road near Timmus Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1968 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Summit Road at a high rate of speed. As it approached Timmus Lane, it went off the roadway and collided with a tree. It continued out of control and traveled up a private driveway.
 
The truck then collided with a metal gate and wooden fence before overturning and catching on fire.
 
As a result, the driver died at the scene. The Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office identified him as 18-year-old Mason Holbrook of Los Gatos.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
