Mark Bocanegra Killed in Scooter Accident on Church Avenue [Highland, CA]

52-Year-Old Man Dies after Crashing His Scooter into Car in Highland

 
HIGHLAND, CA (September 14, 2021) – Mark Bocanegra died in a scooter accident in Highland Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:15 p.m. on September 11, on Church Avenue at Stratford Street. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the 52-year-old man was riding his 50cc scooter when he slammed into a 2015 Ford F150 pickup truck that had turned in front of him.
 
The 19-year-old driver of the Ford attempted to turn left onto Stratford Street, directly into the path of the scooter. The front end of the scooter hit the passenger side of the pickup.
 
Bocanegra was thrown from the scooter from the impact. Responding paramedics attempted to revive him, but he died at the scene.
 
The pickup driver remained on scene, and no arrests were made at this time.
 
Sheriff’s officials are still investigating the fatal crash.
