Marina Fire Chief Doug McCoun Involved in Carjacking Incident by Kevin Peck on Highway 156 in Prunedale

 
PRUNEDALE, CA (April 15, 2022) – Police arrested Kevin Peck after carjacking Marina Fire Chief Doug McCoun’s vehicle on Highway 156 on April 8.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Meridian Road shortly before 9:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, McCoun was driving his marked fire department SUV when he came across a crash involving an Aston Martin, a U-Haul, and at least five other vehicles. After he turned on his emergency lights and called in to report the crash, 43-year-old Peck of Sacramento pulled him out of the car.
 
Immediately, Peck drove off in the Marina Fire Department vehicle.
 
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said deputies recovered the stolen Marina fire vehicle in the Carmel Highlands Saturday morning. As a result, officers arrested Peck before booking them into the Monterey County Jail.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. Also, no other details are available.
