Pedestrian Accident on Beech Street in Downtown San Diego Leaves Man with Serious Injuries

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 27, 2021) – A 58-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Beech Street in downtown San Diego Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 8:50 a.m. on October 24 near Fifth Avenue. According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was asleep on the sidewalk near a driveway. A 65-year-old woman in a 2019 Ford Edge drove in a designated bike lane and turned into an Ace parking lot. The woman then drove over the sleeping man.
 
Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital with serious injuries, including fractures to his ribs and hip.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
