Rollover Crash on Highway S2 in Shelter Valley Kills Driver and Badly Injures Passenger

 
SHELTER VALLEY, CA (June 12, 2023) – A man died and a woman was badly injured in a rollover accident on Highway S2 in Shelter Valley Friday afternoon on June 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:30 p.m. about seven miles south of Highway 78. According to Cal Fire, a pickup truck was traveling northbound when it overturned on its roof.
 
Passersby stopped and rendered aid to the driver and his female passenger, both described as elderly.
 
Sadly, the male driver died at the scene.
 
Paramedics airlifted the woman to an Imperial County hospital for treatment of moderate to severe injuries.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
