Police Chase on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Involving Teen Driver Ends in Fatality

 
STOCKTON, CA (January 17, 2022) – A 37-year-old man died after a police chase involving a teen driver on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Stockton on Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:20 a.m. on January 16, as San Joaquin County deputies were trying to catch up to a suspect vehicle. Police said the vehicle was wanted for a felony out of Contra Costa County.
 
According to Stockton police, the 15-year-old driver was driving the vehicle erratically and was heading east along Charter Way at high speed. A Stockton police officer spotted the vehicle and gave chase.
 
Moments later, the vehicle crashed into an uninvolved driver at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Lincoln Street.
 
The driver of the uninvolved vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police arrested the teen driver and booked him into Juvenile Hall.
