Pickup Truck Rear-Ends Sedan on Highway 20 in Clearlake Killing One

 
CLEARLAKE, CA (January 17, 2022) – One person was killed in a rear-end accident on Highway 20 in Clearlake, late Sunday evening.
 
The fatal accident around 11:54 p.m. on January 16 at First Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck rear-ended a Volkswagen sedan for unknown reasons.
 
Officers arrived and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
The Lake County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity once family members are properly notified.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still gathering enough evidence to determine the exact cause and liability.
