One Dead, One Injured in Rollover Accident on South Atlantic Boulevard near Garvey Avenue

 
MONTEREY PARK, CA (October 22, 2021) — A man died in a rollover crash on South Atlantic Boulevard on Wednesday, October 20.
 
According to the Monterey Park Police Department, the crash occurred on the 100 block of South Atlantic Boulevard at 12:10 a.m.
 
The vehicle occupied by two people rolled over and careened into a building that houses a spa, which was closed during the time of the incident.
 
Monterey Park firefighters transported one person from the car in critical condition to the hospital.
 
The collision also partially ejected a man from the vehicle. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released his name pending notification of loved ones.
 
The crash temporarily closed Atlantic Boulevard between Garvey Avenue and Newmark Avenue. Officials reopened the road after clearing operations and an on-scene investigation.
 
Police continue to look for surveillance footage that might show what happened.
