Fatal Atascadero Rollover Accident on Highway 41

 
ATASCADERO, CA (February 2, 2021) – A man died in a rollover accident on Highway 41 in Atascadero Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:15 p.m. near Cholare Road.
 
Two cars were reportedly racing in the area before one crashed into a tree and rolled over in the westbound lanes.
 
When police arrived, they found a male patient inside the overturned car. However, officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
Highway 41 was temporarily closed in the area around the crash, but was reopened Sunday morning.
