Rear-End Crash on Highway 237 in Sunnyvale Kills Passenger

 
SUNNYVALE, CA (December 4, 2022) – A man was killed in a rear-end accident on Highway 237 in Sunnyvale Wednesday night on November 30.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:50 p.m. just east of Mathilda Avenue. According to the CHP, a 62-year-old woman driving a 2007 Lexus ES 350 took her eyes off the road, then when she looked back she saw that traffic had come to a stop and hit her brakes, but crashed into the vehicle in front of her.
 
The 61-year-old man from San Jose was a passenger in the right rear of the Lexus and was not wearing a seat belt at the time. He was thrown into the back of the front passenger seat.
 
Paramedics rushed the man to Stanford Health Care, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
