Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on White Lane in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 5, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on White Lane in Bakersfield Friday evening on December 2.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m. near South Real Road. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a car struck him.
 
After hitting the pedestrian, the car continued without stopping.
 
The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office withheld his identity at this time.
 
Police described the suspect vehicle as a gray mid-2010s model Subaru WRX sedan with front end damage.
 
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor, police said.
 
An investigation is underway. Anyone with further information is asked to call the BPD at 661-327-7111.
