Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Meacham Road in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 19, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Meacham Road in Bakersfield early Sunday morning on September 17.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a vehicle struck the male pedestrian in the 9500 block of Meacham Road around 2:38 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian lying down in the roadway with major injuries.
 
The victim suffered severe major injuries and later died at the hospital.
 
The man who was driving the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
 
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
