Man Dead after Pedestrian Accident on Johnson Avenue near Arnele Avenue

 
EL CAJON, CA (February 8, 2021) — A man in his 40s died following a pedestrian accident on Johnson Avenue in El Cajon on Sunday, January 24.
 
According to Elka John Police Lieutenant Jeremiah Larson, they received reports of the crash on the 700 block North Johnson Avenue at around 5:40 p.m.
 
The initial investigation determined that the car traveled south on North Johnson Avenue towards Arnele Avenue. Before the car arrived at Arnele Avenue, it crashed into a pedestrian crossing the road.
 
The pedestrian had a serious head injury. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital where he died.
 
There were no reports if there were other injuries in the accident.
 
Larson said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be the cause of the incident.
 
Officials continue to investigate the crash. No other information is available as of the moment.
