Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on Highway 198 in Kings County

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 198 near the Hanford area of Kings County late Saturday evening on June 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:00 p.m. at 1 1/2 Avenue. CHP officials said the driver of a car used a turning lane to try passing another car. The driver then lost control, crashed into the center and struck the male pedestrian.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
 
The driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in this crash. The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
