Man Dies in Ukiah Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101

 
UKIAH, CA (January 12, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 near Highway 20 on Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 6:40 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 53-year-old man begin walking southbound along the western edge of the highway when an oncoming 2013 Subaru struck him.
 
Due to the impact, the man rolled down a dirt embankment and suffered fatal injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old Windsor man driving the Subaru immediately contacted 911.
 
Following the crash, officers interviewed him and ruled out intoxication as a possible explanation for the incident. Although, if any witnesses have more information, please contact the authorities.
