Man Pushing Wheelchair Dies after Struck by Car on Harbor Freeway in LA
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 19, 2021) – A man who was pushing a wheelchair was killed in a pedestrian accident on Harbor (110) Freeway in Los Angeles early Sunday morning.
The accident happened around 4:25 a.m. on July 18, at Adams Boulevard off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking on the Adams Boulevard off-ramp pushing the wheelchair when a vehicle struck him.
A witness found the body and the wheelchair on the northbound freeway and call the authorities. Arriving officers pronounced the pedestrian dead the scene.
Information about any drivers who stopped after they struck the man was not available.
CHP issued a SigAlert in the area, shutting down four northbound freeway lanes and stopping traffic just north of Exposition Boulevard.
It remains unclear at this time whether the crash was a hit-and-run. The circumstances of this fatality are still under investigation.
