Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway

 
GRENADA, CA (June 30, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near the 99-97 Cutoff Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 12:15 a.m. For unknown reasons, a shirtless man was standing in the middle of the road.
 
Subsequently, an oncoming Kenworth semi-truck slammed into the man as he walked into its path. As a result, the impact hurled the man southbound, and a white Toyota Prius ran him over.
 
Unfortunately, the unidentified pedestrian died in the crash.
 
Soon after, more authorities arrived to investigate. Yet at this time, the case remains under investigation. Although, if anyone has more information on this pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway, please contact the CHP.
