Man Dies in Motorized Scooter Accident on El Cajon Boulevard in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (January 6, 2023) — A man died in a motorized scooter crash on El Cajon Boulevard near 52nd Street.
 
According to Lt. Darrin Forster with the El Cajon Police Department, the fatal scooter crash happened at approximately 10:41 a.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a 57-year-old man operating a motorized scooter made an unsafe turn into the path of a black 2000 Dodge Ram truck. As a result, both vehicles collided, and the truck trapped the victim beneath the undercarriage.
 
Immediately after, Good Samaritans rushed to the scene and used floor jacks to lift the vehicle off the victim. Soon after, paramedics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego where he died.
 
Authorities have not stated the victim’s name pending notification of family members. No one else reported any injuries.
