David Mattu Arrested in Police Chase Crash on Butte House Road [Yuba City, CA]

David Mattu Detained in Police Chase Accident on Butte House Road near Stabler Lane

 
YUBA CITY, CA (January 5, 2023) — David Mattu faces charges in a police chase incident on Butte House Road near Stabler Lane.
 
According to Yuba City Police, the incident first began around 7:45 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a 46-year-old in a silver Ford F-150 drove over the front lawn of the Yuba City Police Department. Although officers weren’t able to stop the vehicle, they did locate the car in the 1200 block of Stabler Lane.
 
David Mattu spotted the officers and immediately reversed his truck into a patrol vehicle. From there, a police pursuit unfolded on eastbound Butte House Road.
 
Not long after, Mattu stopped his vehicle yet refused to exit until he drove off and crashed his truck into an occupied Yuba City police vehicle in an attempt to escape. The officer suffered minor injuries, and Mattu still would not comply with authorities.
 
After an hour of negotiation, police finally arrested Mattu after transporting him to Adventist Rideout Hospital for treatment of his injury.
 
Police have him booked into Sutter County Jail on assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felony vehicle pursuit and other charges. If anyone has more information on this incident, please contact Yuba City Police.
