Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Sedan on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu

MALIBU, CA (June 19, 2023) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu late Saturday afternoon on June 17.

The fatal accident happened around 5:30 p.m. just south of Deer Creek Road north of the iconic Neptune’s Net restaurant. According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the man was riding his 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on PCH when the driver of a 2003 Toyota Corolla on the southbound right shoulder turned in front of his path of travel. The sedan and the motorcycle then collided.

As a result, the man suffered critical head injuries. He was taken by ground ambulance to rendezvous with a Ventura County helicopter crew, for air transport, at a landing zone at a nearby gun range.

The man was subsequently removed from the helicopter as crews performed advanced life support, but he died soon after. He was a 35-year-old Oxnard resident.

The driver of the Corolla, a 74-year-old Oxnard man, sustained minor injuries and declined further medical treatment at the scene.

No arrests had been made at this time. CHP officials asked witnesses to call the agency’s Ventura office at 805-662-2640.
