Arnulfo Salazar, Benjamin Nunez Hospitalized in Single-Car Crash on Amboy Road near Bellking Road

 
TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA (June 19, 2023) Arnulfo Salazar and Benjamin Nunez suffered serious injuries in a fatal solo-car accident on Amboy Road near Bellking Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly single-car crash happened around 9:10 a.m. Friday. For an unknown reason, 50-year-old Arnulfo Salazar, of Moreno Valley, was driving at high speeds. Subsequently, the 2014 Toyota Sienna traveled across both lanes of the road before hitting a dirt embankment west of the highway.
 
A passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the car and died later at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The fatal victim’s name was not released but reports described the individual as a 51-year-old woman from Moreno Valley.
 
Salazar sustained moderate injuries, and 30-year-old Benjamin Nunez, also from Moreno Valley, sustained major injuries and sought care at Desert Regional Medical Center.
 
In addition, a 4-year-old passenger who was strapped in a child safety seat was unharmed.
 
Police officers do not have an explanation for the accident, but they confirmed that alcohol and drugs did not play a part.
