1 Person Dies, Motorcycle Crash on Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay

 
GRANITE BAY, CA (May 10, 2023) — A man died in a motorcycle accident on Douglas Boulevard near Berg Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle collision happened around 2:45 p.m. Monday.
 
Authorities learned that a 61-year-old woman from Fair Oaks was attempting a U-turn from eastbound to westbound Douglas Boulevard. However, a westbound 2022 Honda motorcycle traveling over 85 miles per hour crashed into the woman’s 2009 Toyota SUV.
 
The impact ejected the motorcycle rider from the vehicle.
 
Minutes later, Roseville Fire Department officials arrived and tended to the 22-year-old Roseville man who suffered grave injuries. Despite receiving life-saving efforts, however, the man died at the scene.
 
Paramedics also transported the woman to a hospital with moderate injuries.
 
Authorities do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in this accident, but CHP officers will investigate this crash further. As for the motorcyclist’s name, the Placer County Coroner officials will first notify family members before releasing the individual’s name.
