Box Truck Strikes, Kills Bicyclist on Highway 1 in Moss Beach

 
MOSS BEACH, CA (September 30, 2022) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Highway 1 in Moss Beach on Wednesday morning, September 21.
 
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. at Cypress Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a box truck was traveling southbound on the highway when it drifted into the northbound lanes. It then struck the victim who was riding his bicycle on the shoulder.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities only described him as someone in his 40s.
 
The truck driver was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.
 
At this time, authorities do not believe that distracted driving, drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
