Man Dies in Hit-and-Run, Rollover Crash on Highway 1 in Monterey

 
MONTEREY, CA (June 2, 2023) — A man died in a hit-and-run rollover accident on Highway 1 near Aguajito Road Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened on Highway 1 before 7:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, two vehicles crashed on the highway. As a result of the impact, the van involved in the crash reportedly rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop in the fast lane. The driver of the other vehicle, which authorities described as a silver car with major front-end damage, left the scene.
 
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and performed CPR on the van driver before taking the 62-year-old Carmel man to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
