Motorcyclist Dies after Stolen Bike Crashes into SUV on 39th Avenue in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (November 11, 2023) – A 32-year-old Oakland man died in a fiery motorcycle accident at 39th Avenue and International Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:13 p.m. on November 8. According to the Oakland Police Department, the man was riding a stolen motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for a red light. He then crashed into a light-colored SUV. The impact caused the motorcycle to catch fire.
 
The man was ejected a distance away from the bike, but he did suffer severe burns.
 
Responding paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he later died.
 
A family of four in the SUV sustained minor injuries.

Police said the motorcycle was stolen in Oakland on October 20.
