Man Dead after Car Crashes into Building on University Avenue

LA MESA, CA (July 30, 2021) — A man is dead after a car crashes into a building on University Avenue near Yale Avenue Wednesday evening.
 
According to the La Mesa Police, the fatal incident happened around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, an SUV heading eastbound on University Avenue left the road and crashed into a glass commercial office building.
 
Unfortunately, a 40-year-old man inside the building suffered fatal injuries in the accident. Meanwhile, paramedics responded and transported the 61-year-old man driving the vehicle to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
At this time, the victim’s name and the cause of the crash require additional investigation. However, if any witnesses would like to add to this case, please contact the La Mesa Police.
