Car Accident on Valley Parkway in Escondido Kills 1 Passenger and Injures 3 Others

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (October 4, 2021) – A man died in a car accident on Valley Parkway in Escondido late Wednesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:43 p.m. on September 29, just south of Claudan Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old boy from Escondido was driving a 2000 Honda Prelude with four passengers, another 17-year-old boy, two 18-year-old boys, and a 20-year-old man.
 
For unknown reasons, the driver veered his car to the right and left the roadway. The Honda then collided with a raised curb, a light pole and a tree.
 
As a result, the 20-year-old male passenger died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Paramedics rushed the driver and the three other passengers to Palomar Medical Center with serious injuries.
 
All four people involved were Escondido residents.
 
The California Highway Patrol do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
