Man Dies in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 43 in Corcoran

 
CORCORAN, CA (August 21, 2023) — A man died in a 2-vehicle accident on Highway 43 at Avenue 120.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car crash happened Thursday afternoon. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a 2007 Nissan Sentra attempted an eastbound turn from Highway 43 South to eastbound Avenue 120. However, in an attempt to do this at speeds of 50 miles per hour, a northbound International Transtar plowed into Nissan’s right side, despite the northbound driver’s attempt to steer to the left.
 
Upon impact, both vehicles traveled off the road in a northeasterly direction before the International Transtar struck a dirt berm.
 
Soon after, crews and paramedics arrived at the scene to find both cars on the east shoulder of Highway 43. Paramedics brought two passengers in the Nissan to a local hospital but confirmed a third Nissan occupant, a man, dead upon arrival.
 
As for the driver of the International Transtar, he or she did not report any injuries in the crash. If anyone has more to add to this accident, please call the CHP.
