Man Killed in Olivehurst Rollover Crash on Highway 70

 
OLIVEHURST, CA (November 23, 2021) — A 20-year-old man died in a rollover accident on Highway 70 near Plumas Lake Boulevard late Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car crash happened around 10:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 20-year-old driving a red 2017 Nissan 350 was traveling at excessive speeds and lost control. Subsequently, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times, partially ejecting the driver.
 
As a result of the accident, the driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Soon after the crash, paramedics brought the 16-year-old passenger to a hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed if alcohol or drugs played a part. However, a witness has informed authorities that the driver was driving recklessly prior to the crash.
