One Dies in Pedestrian Accident near Tecolote Road in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 23, 2021) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident near Tecolote Road on November 19.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Tecolote Road around 9:00 PM.
For unknown reasons, the pedestrian was in the restricted area of the railroad track near the Tecolote Road Station prior to the crash. Subsequently, a southbound Amtrak train came and struck the victim. However, it was not clear what the victim was doing in the tracks at that time.
As a result, deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff‘s transit enforcement unit died in the incident. As of now, officials have not released the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
