Fatal Pedestrian Accident Reported on Willow Avenue in Atwater

 
ATWATER, CA (April 29, 2021) – Officers confirmed that a man died in a pedestrian accident on Willow Avenue on April 26.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Olive Avenue around 11:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was crossing the road using a walker at the time of the crash. However, he was not in the crosswalk. Subsequently, a vehicle came and struck him.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Initially, emergency crews transported him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died. Officials did not yet release his name pending kin notification.
 
The driver stopped about a block away. Officials say drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
 
At this point, CHP officers are still investigating this pedestrian accident on Willow Avenue. In addition, they are searching for surveillance videos to help them.
