Man Killed in Hercules Car Crash with Tow Truck on 80 Freeway

 
HERCULES, CA (March 1, 2022) — A man died in a car accident with a tow truck on the 80 Freeway near Willow Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened Sunday afternoon. For unknown reasons, a man driving a Toyota RAV4 who reportedly was not strapped in a seat belt crashed into a tow truck. Per reports, the accident happened as the tow truck began driving away with the disabled vehicle, east of Willow Avenue.
 
Following the accident, paramedics reached the scene and pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead. Meanwhile, the occupants inside the tow truck suffered merely minor injuries.
 
At this time, investigators have no information on the leading cause of the accident. However, any witnesses with information should reach out to the authorities.
