Luis Rodriguez Detained in DUI Rollover Accident, Passenger Killed

 
TURLOCK, CA (October 4, 2021) — Luis Rodriguez faces charges in Thursday’s fatal DUI rollover crash on Highway 99 near Monte Vista Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle accident happened around 10:40 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, 35-year-old Rodriguez allowed his 2016 Ford Explorer to drift off the southbound highway. Upon veering out of control, the SUV drove down an embankment and overturned before hitting a metal chain link fence.
 
Soon after, authorities responded. They located the SUV on its roof and Rodriguez’s wife, who ejected from the vehicle in the crash. She died shortly after.
 
Meanwhile, authorities transported Rodriguez to Memorial Medical Center for a broken leg and arm. In addition, paramedics transported his four children — ages 6 months and 1, 2 and 3 years old — to a hospital as a precaution.
 
At this time, Rodriguez faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. If anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the CHP.
