FRESNO, CA (October 4, 2021) — A man suffered critical injuries in a pedestrian accident on Griffith Way at Blackstone Avenue Friday night.
 
According to Fresno police, the pedestrian accident happened around 10:16 p.m. For unknown reasons, a man decided to cross a marked crosswalk against a red traffic light. Subsequently, a driver, described as a woman in her 30s, struck him as she drove through a green light
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived to perform life-saving efforts on the victim before transporting him to a hospital. Meanwhile, investigators examined the driver and learned that DUI did not play a factor.
 
At this time, the crash requires further investigation. However, any witnesses who can help the authorities should contact the department.
