Luis Najera Killed, Passenger Severely Injured in Car Accident on Shoreline Drive [Santa Barbara, CA]

Car Crashes into Tree on Shoreline Drive Killing the Driver and Severely Injuring the Passenger

 
SANTA BARBARA, CA (December 14, 2021) – Luis A. Najera died and his passenger suffered severe injuries in a car accident in Santa Barbara, early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened just after midnight on December 11 in the 700 block of Shoreline Drive. Police said Najera was driving a silver Toyota pickup truck when he veered off the roadway and crashed into a large palm tree.
 
First responders extricated Najera and his passenger from the truck and transported both to Cottage Hospital Emergency Room with severe injuries.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Najera died approximately three hours later. He was a 27-year-old Los Angeles resident.
 
The condition of the passenger was not immediately known.
 
At this time, the Santa Barbara Police Department is still investigating the accident.
