Lindsey Roberts Arrested after Pursuit Ends in Multi-Vehicle Crash in Carlsbad

 
CARLSBAD, CA (December 13, 2023) – Authorities identified 40-year-old Lindsey Roberts as the suspected DUI driver arrested after a pursuit ended in a multi-vehicle crash on La Costa Avenue, Sunday evening.
 
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on December 10, at about 9:15 p.m. A deputy spotted a black Toyota Corolla that was swerving across lanes on 5 Freeway.
 
The deputy initiated a traffic stop but the driver failed to yield and a pursuit began.
 
The Toyota reportedly ran several red lights and traveled on the wrong side of the road throughout the chase. As per reports, the pursuit stopped but the deputy continued following the path of the Toyota from the last known location.
 
A short time later, the Toyota crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of La Costa Avenue and El Camino Real. The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to veer off the roadway, injuring its 41-year-old driver.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, Roberts, needed extrication and suffered major injuries. Authorities later arrested her on suspicion of an outstanding felony arrest warrant and felony evading.
 
The sheriff’s department continues to investigate the incident.
