18-Year-Old Jose Ramirez Hurt in Napa Car Accident
NAPA, CA (January 21, 2021) – A young motorist sustained serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Napa County.
The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 221 and Highway 29.
According to an initial report, 18-year-old Jose Ramirez of American Canyon was driving an SUV southbound on Highway 221 at approximately 60 mph. As he approached the intersection, he went through a red light and hit a pickup truck, driven by 44-year-old Daniel Robles of Vallejo. The pickup was stopped on Highway 29 at that time.
The impact of the collision caused the SUV to overturn multiple times.
As a result, Ramirez suffered major injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Responding paramedics transported him to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Robles and his passenger, 20-year-old Anthony Robles of Vallejo, were unharmed.
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
