Head-On Accident on Highway 152 in Gilroy Kills One and Injures Another

 
GILROY, CA (February 2, 2021) – A driver identified as 62-year-old Aurelio Martinez of Gustine was injured in a deadly head-on accident early Saturday, January 23 on Highway 152.
 
The accident happened around 3:07 a.m. just west of Lovers Lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, a man in a 1990 Honda Accord crossed over double solid yellow lines into westbound lanes of traffic. He then collided head-on into a 2008 Honda Accord, driven by Martinez.
 
As a result, the man driving the older Accord died at the scene. Authorities only described him as a 57-year-old Gilroy resident.
 
Paramedics transported Martinez to a hospital with moderate injuries.
 
The accident is still under investigation.
