Jose Alvarado Dead in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 70 near Wilson Road

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 30, 2021) — Jose Alvarado died in a multi-car accident on Highway 70 near Wilson Road Saturday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 8:12 p.m. For unknown reasons, Jose Luis Cardenas Alvarado tried to make a left turn after making a stop on Wilson Road. Subsequently, a northbound 2007 Peterbilt semi-truck slammed into his Chevrolet S-10 at the intersection. Due to the impact, the 78-year-old Arvin man was ejected from his car.
 
Following the impact, the semi-truck veered into southbound traffic, where it struck a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and transported a 5-year-old girl and another Suburban occupant to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Unfortunately, Alvarado died at the scene.
 
As for the drivers of the Suburban and the Peterbilt, both purportedly sustained only minor injuries in the accident.
