43-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Big Rig in South LA

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 26, 2023) – Johnny Martinez was killed in a pedestrian accident in the South Los Angeles area Wednesday morning on October 25.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on 110 Freeway near the 105 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a big rig struck Martinez on the freeway in unclear circumstances.
 
As a result, Martinez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 43 years old, according to the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner’s Office. His city of residence was not immediately available.
 
It is unknown if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
Crews closed three northbound freeway lanes while an investigation was conducted.
