Joe Silva Killed, Two Injured after Head-On Crash on Golden State Boulevard near Ashlan Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (January 21, 2022) — A 58-year-old Fresno man identified as Joe Silva died in a head-on accident on Thursday, January 20.
 
The incident happened on Golden State Boulevard near Ashlan Avenue shortly before 7:00 a.m.
 
According to investigators, the driver of a silver truck was involved in a collision on Highway 180 and Highway 99 minutes before and fled.
 
The person he struck started chasing him toward Golden State Boulevard. That’s when he crashed head-on with a black truck.
 
Silva who is the driver inside the black truck died at the scene.
 
Medics rushed the suspect and their passenger to a local hospital with injuries. Their conditions were not yet available.
 
Fresno police temporarily closed both directions of Golden State Boulevard between Shaw and Ashlan during the investigation.
