Head-On Crash on Highway 180 in Fresno County Kills Father and 13-Year-Old Daughter

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 27, 2023) – Joe Alvarez and his 13-year-old daughter Analiea Alvarez died in a head-on accident in Fresno County Tuesday morning on April 25.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:20 a.m. on Highway 180 at Alta Avenue. According to the CHP, Alvarez was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty with his daughter at a high rate of speed. He swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado towing a utility trailer.
 
Alvarez was ejected from the Jeep and died at the scene. He was 33 years old, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
 
His daughter Analiea suffered critical injuries and was flown to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later died.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries. His 16-year-old and 4-year-old children were not injured, but were also taken to CRMC for observation.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
