BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 27, 2023) — A pedestrian hit by multiple drivers on Highway 58 near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard died Saturday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened early Saturday.
 
For unknown reasons, a 39-year-old male pedestrian walked directly into the path of a car. While the first driver took off, the other three stayed at the scene and cooperated with police officers. Reports described the vehicles as an Acura, Toyota and a Tesla.
 
Due to the accident, crews had to close the No. 2 and 3 westbound lanes for more than four hours.
