Jesus Mendoza Detained after Fatal DUI Accident on Union Avenue

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 2, 2021) – Police arrested Jesus Moran Mendoza after a fatal DUI accident at Union Avenue and Brundage Lane.
 
According to Bakersfield police, three vehicles were involved in the DUI accident happened around 2:17 a.m. One vehicle rear-ended another vehicle stopped at the stoplight. When those two vehicles rolled into the intersection, a third vehicle collided with one of the cars.
 
As a result, two people were pronounced dead on scene, and another two were transported to Kern Medical Center in critical condition.
 
BPD says the driver of the vehicle who appears to be at fault is identified as Mendoza, 35, who was under the influence. They shared some tips about driving safe at night, even if you are driving responsibly. Shortly after the accident, police arrested Jesus Mendoza.
 
Further investigation is underway.
