Jennifer Macy Ejected, Killed in San Juan Capistrano Electric Bicycle Accident
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (October 8, 2021) — A woman died in an electric bicycle accident on San Juan Creek Trail near Creekside Park on Saturday night, September 25.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, 36-year-old Jennifer Macy had her sons, ages 3 and 4, strapped in seats on her e-bike. However, she hit a curb and was thrown onto the rocks.
Soon after, Orange County Fire Authority responded just north of Creekside Park to find the woman with severe injuries. However, Macy died from her injuries.
Macy was not wearing a helmet when she crashed, but her children were. The children were injured and hospitalized, but are now recovering.
Police are investigating the accident at this time.
