Lanes Closed after Truck Accident on Highway 79 near Gilman Springs Road in Hemet

 
HEMET, CA (January 31, 2022) – At least one person sustained injuries following a truck accident on Highway 79, Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on January 29 at about 9:10 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a small truck drove into oncoming traffic. Then, the truck collided with several vehicles near Gilman Springs Road.
 
As per reports, the collision resulted in a possible brain injury and a possible broken leg. However, the number of people injured remains unknown.
 
Responders temporarily closed both the north and south sides of the highway to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
