Guadalupe Rios Dies in Modesto Broadside Crash after Making Abrupt U-Turn

 
MODESTO, CA (February 23, 2021) – The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the man who died in a broadside accident Thursday, February 11 in Modesto.
 
According to the coroner’s office, 65-year-old Guadalupe Rios of Modesto was driving a Chevrolet Malibu west on Finch Road near Business Park Drive. For unknown reasons, he made a U-turn into the path of a Jeep that was also traveling west.
 
The Jeep broadsided the driver side of the Chevrolet. Rios, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Jeep was not hurt.
 
Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the collision, the CHP said. However, witnesses are asked to call the Modesto CHP Office at (209) 545-7440.
