Gregorio Arreaga Killed in Park-and-Ride Lot Crash on Sweetwater Road [National City, CA]

49-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck at National City Park-and-Ride Lot

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (September 24, 2023) – Gregorio Arreaga was killed in a park-and-ride lot crash in National City Sunday afternoon on September 17.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 5:00 p.m. in the 2300 block of Sweetwater Road. According to the CHP, Arreaga was standing in the bed of a parked pickup truck within a Park n Ride facility when he was struck by another vehicle.
 
Arreaga was ejected from the truck bed and beneath another parked vehicle. Responding paramedics transported him to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
 
Despite-lifesaving measures, his health continued to decline and he was declared dead on Tuesday, September 19. He was 49 years old from National City, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
