Gregg Sauer, Ronald Dene, Taylor Romine and Rami Abdulrazak Killed in Head-On Accident on Highway 14 [Mojave, CA]

Head-On Crash in Mojave Kills 4 and Badly Injures 1

 
MOJAVE, CA (January 8, 2024) – Gregg Ray Sauer, Ronald Eric Dene, Taylor Camille Romine and Rami Abdulrazak died in a head-on accident in Mojave Friday evening on December 29.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:41 p.m. on Highway 14, just south of Horse Canyon Road. According to the CHP, Sauer was driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz south on the highway when he entered the northbound lane to pass another vehicle. He then collided head-on with a 2014 Jeep heading north.
 
As a result of the crash, Sauer and his passenger, Dene, both died at the scene. Sauer was a 61-year-old Lancaster resident, while Dene was 56 years old of Los Angeles. Neither of them was wearing seat belts.

Romine, a 23-year-old Huntington Beach resident, was the driver of the Jeep. Abdulrazak, 27 years old Yorba Linda, was one of her passengers. Both also died at the scene, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.

A second passenger in the Jeep, 24-year-old Jordan Romine of Huntington Beach, was transported to Antelope Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
