Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Wasco

 
WASCO, CA (November 15, 2023) – Gabriela Garza was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wasco Sunday night on November 12.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m. in the area of Poso Drive and Palm Avenue. According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Garza was riding her bicycle when a vehicle struck her.
 
After striking her, the driver of the vehicle did not stop.
 
First responders found Garza on the ground suffering from major injuries. They attempted saving her, but she died at the scene.
 
Garza was 41 years old from Wasco, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
